A More Personal Approach to Strength and Care
Iron Vets was built on a simple belief that people deserve to feel strong, capable, and supported, no matter their age or condition.

Many individuals, especially older adults and veterans, face challenges that make traditional gyms unrealistic or uncomfortable. Loss of strength, mobility, and routine can lead to a loss of independence over time.

Iron Vets uses boxing to bring structured, personalized training directly into the home meeting each person where they are and helping them safely build strength, improve movement, and maintain a higher quality of life.
This is not about pushing limits. It’s about restoring confidence, creating consistency, and supporting long-term independence.

"When my husband’s Lewy body syndrome made it impossible for him to get to the gym, we didn’t know what to do until we found Russ.

He came to our home, and that changed everything. The sessions were safe, convenient, and kept my husband active when he otherwise couldn’t be. And it was actually fun, I even joined in a few times! There’s nothing like hitting the pads, breaking a sweat, and letting some stress out.

This wasn’t just exercise. Russ gave us something to look forward to again. We loved it."

“Taking care of my elderly dad full-time didn’t leave me any time. No errands, no breaks, nothing.

Since he couldn’t get to the gym, Russ brought the workout to him. That alone was a game changer. But what really meant everything was trust. I could leave the house, run errands I’d been putting off, and know my dad was in good hands.
One day I even ran late getting back, and Russ was still there in the kitchen, cooking my dad eggs.

That tells you everything. Great guy, great workouts, and a huge help for caregivers who just need a little time to breathe.”

"My dad has ALS and was really struggling with the feeling that his body was failing him. He boxed in the Army, so losing that physical ability was tough on him.

Working with Russ brought something back I hadn’t seen in years. Putting on the gloves, hitting pads, moving like he used to and it lit him up. There was real joy and energy there again.

Russ also gave us a meaningful veteran discount, which meant a lot to our family.
Stand-up guy, great trainer, and someone who truly cares."

"I actually found Russ through my grandmother and asked if I could join in, even though I’m not elderly or dealing with any limitations. He didn’t hesitate and welcomed me into a small group session.

It ended up being one of the most fun workouts I’ve ever had. Hitting the mitts, moving your feet, staying engaged the whole time. It’s just so different in the best way.

I was completely gassed by the end, but I loved every second of it. If you’re looking for a workout that’s effective and fun, boxing with Russ is it."

About Iron Vets
Iron Vets was built on a simple belief: people deserve to feel strong, capable, and supported no matter their age, condition, or circumstances.
After serving in the Air Force, I saw how many individuals, especially veterans and older adults, struggle with physical decline, limited mobility, and a loss of structure in their daily lives. Traditional gyms aren’t built for them, and most programs don’t meet them where they are.
This mission was personal to me.
I watched my old man, an Air Force captain, face the challenges of Lewy body dementia later in life, boxing to maintain his health, strength and mobility as long as he could. That experience shaped how I approach training today. It’s not about intensity or pushing limits. It’s about patience, structure, and meeting people where they are, day by day.
I bring years of boxing training into my work, along with hands-on experience supporting individuals with neurological conditions. I volunteer with Rock Steady Boxing, working with individuals living with Parkinson’s, and apply those same principles of safe, structured movement to every client I work with.
I am a certified personal trainer and certified sports nutritionist through the National Council on Strength and Fitness. Every program I deliver is built with a focus on safety, consistency, and long-term progress.
Iron Vets is not just about fitness, but about restoring confidence, maintaining independence, and providing support that clients and families can trust.
